Whale Watching Seasson in Puerto Vallarta

From mid-December through to the end of March is whale watching season in Puerto Vallarta where humpback whales and other breeds come to flirt, breed, give birth, feed, and teach their young to cavort in Banderas Bay. It is a spectacular sight and one that visitors, residents and locals never tire of seeing. Every year, thousands of whales descend upon Puerto Vallarta’s waters in search of warmer temperatures. The most common type of whale to visit these Pacific shores are humpback whales, although other types of whales are also sighted. Taking into account that the distinctive killer whale belongs to the dolphin family, lucky visitors may also catch sight of this magnificent animal.

During the winter months of January and February, you are pretty much guaranteed sightings and spectacular acrobatic displays, as though the mammals were showing off their magnificence.
