Luis Fernando González Corona, president of Tafer Hotels & Resorts, gathered alongside Arturo Dávalos Peña, the Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, and Dr. Marco Antonio Cortés, the Dean of the CUCosta University of Guadalajara campus, to officially announce the International Sculptors Forum. This special event will be held at the CUCosta campus in Puerto Vallarta from November 13th through November 25th.

Thanks to the help of Puerto Vallarta’s City Council, CUCosta and local private benefactors such as Luis Fernando Gonzalez Corona, president of Tafer Hotels & Resorts, the intention of the event is to transform Puerto Vallarta into a citywide cultural workshop. 11 acclaimed international sculptors from countries including Egypt, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Iran, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Taiwan and Turkey will be joining Puerto Vallarta’s first International Sculptors Forum. Celebrated sculptor and academic Kemal Tufan, who hails from the University of Marmara in Turkey, will be organizing the event with the help of selected students who are part of the Visual Arts degree program at CUCosta.

Vallarta Lifestyles, a prominent local magazine in Puerto Vallarta, was present at the press conference, during which Dr. Marco Antonio Cortés was quoted as declaring, “With this forum, we want to offer new tourist attractions that contribute to convene a new profile of tourists, more oriented to the enjoyment of cultural, material and symbolic heritage.” There is no doubt that this unique event is poised to elevate the cultural and artistic aspects of the seaside destination to new levels of greatness.

Luis Fernando Gonzalez Corona, businessman and president of Tafer Hotels & Resorts as well as the Villa Group, extended his support for the cultural project together with other private benefactors. In total, there will be seven sculptures to be donated, which will then head to some of the most beloved neighborhoods in Puerto Vallarta. It is possible that a competition will be held between the local communities as they vie to bring the sculptures to their corner of town.
