Tafer Hotels to Discontinue Single Use Plastic Straws
Tafer Resorts is committed to doing our part to protect the environment. That is why we are discontinuing the use of single-use disposable plastic straws at all of our hotels.
Last year was a breakthrough year in Mexico as we collectively realized just how detrimental the use of single-use plastic straws is to the environment and animal life.
Many restaurants and bars across Mexico are no longer offering straws to patrons unless specifically asked for.
Tafer Resorts is taking responsibility for our part in keeping our beaches and oceans clean and protecting marine animals. Our resorts in the beach communities of Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos will no longer offer plastic straws with drinks. This will prevent straws from entering the oceans.
Our mountain communities are also affected by single use plastic waste, so we are extending the commitment to discontinue plastic straws in our forest resort of Sierra Lago in the Sierra Madre mountains as well.
Options to replace single-use plastic straws include bring-your-own aluminum or copper straws, or straws made from biodegradable materials such as plant fibers.
